What do you know about the port Berbera accord between DP world, Ethiopia and Somaliland?

Since Somaliland is one-clan secessionist enclave and not recognized by any country or by the UN, it can’t have any business treaty agreements with any international bodies because Somaliland its part of greater Somalia and any business treaty agreement with any foreign entity is considered a violation of International law and a violation of Somali territorial integrity.

Why does Ethiopia take 19% of the share?

The reason why Ethiopia took 19% of the share is that Somaliland can’t sign in with such business treaty accord with DP world because Somaliland is not country, its autonomous State within a Somalia.

Let me give you analogy- In this part of the world where I live in, you can’t drive a car if you don’t have a full license (D license), If you have only a written test license (Learner Permit license), you can drive a car with a lot of restriction within a designed area. BUT if you want to drive the car with no restriction; you need someone with a full license sit beside you while driving.

Thus, Somaliland to sign in this international agreements, she needs Ethiopia to sit beside her because Ethiopia has a full driver license.

What Ethiopians will do to defend their share of 19% on this deal? What do we expect happening in Somaliland for the coming months, years?

Well, the Ethiopians will pour in Somaliland a lot of military hardware, tanks, and military personnel claiming that they are going to secure the safety and well-being of the civilians, BUT, in reality they will kill or uproot to anyone who has a sound intellect and say something against about this deal some critics suggested that the former President (Mr Hassan Sheikh Mohamed) knew this deal and he signed in on behalf of Somaliland. this is a baseless accusation. Mr Hassan was/is a decent human being and a Somali patriot and he’s well known someone who defends the territorial integrity of Somalia.

What does literally the term Somaliland mean?

The literal meaning of the term Somaliland is ‘ Dhulkii Somalidda’- land of Somalia, Thus, I’m a Somali and I come from Somalia or Somaliland (Dhulkii Somalidda). On this note, Hargeisa is part of the Land of Somalia. in contrast, if you want to separate from the rest of Somalia, call yourself a WARYEELAND or ISAAQLAND but do not call yourself as a Somaliland because Land of Somalia is my land too. let alone without mention (SSC Regions).

Having that in mind, the Minister of Post and Telecommunication of Somaliland announced the other day that they are going to discontinue .SO domain which is a country code for Somalia. And also the spokesperson of the Ministry suggested that they are going discontinue the country code of Somalia (252). What a pity! I wonder what they are going to use it! I guess they are going to use .UK for the country domain and 44 for a country code… Your constructive feedbacks on this matter will be highly appreciated!

N.B. the only thing that we are in common with ARABS is being a Muslim. Alhamullilah, we are 100% Sunni Muslims. We have nothing else in common with ARABS! Whether you are from North or South of Somalia, you have been regarded as ‘CABIID’-slave by ARABS.
